Spanish

Spanish Language instruction at Aspen Academy fosters a love of learning as students acquire a second language. Using the TPRS (Total Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling) method, students learn a broad conversational base of the language. Students act out stories to demonstrate understanding while expressing themselves physically.

Pre-Kindergarteners focus on the following vocabulary development:

  • Greetings
  • Secondary colors
  • Body parts
  • Numbers (1-30)
  • Clothing
  • Animals
  • Basic transportation conversation
  • Food
  • Beverage
  • Months of the year
  • Four seasons
  • Weather

Students also develop an awareness of other cultures’ holidays and celebrations.
