Pre-Kindergarten

Aspen Academy PreK students enjoying an outdoor, interactive lesson with their teacher

Step into a Pre-K classroom at Aspen and you’ll be greeted by a host of cheerful students being playful while being challenged. These thriving leaders of the future are learning to be kind, do good, work hard, and make the world better each day. While they make it look easy, our faculty is bringing precise, personalized care to each student’s journey with a mix of play and conscientious curriculum. These students are experiencing an education of consequence and falling in love with learning and living.

We are committed to equipping students with the skills, habits, attitudes and content needed to successfully develop and navigate an extraordinary and purposeful life. In PreK, we begin with social and emotional education fundamentals to support thriving lives for our students. Our program intentionally and consistently cultivates:

  • Curiosity and Imagination
  • Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving
  • Collaboration Across Networks
  • Agility and Adaptability
  • Initiative
  • Effective Communication
  • Accessing and Analyzing Information

Pre-K students must be 4 before September 1 and Kindergarten students must be 5 by September 1 to apply.

For Pre-K and Kindergarten admissions, we follow the September 1st date as a guide. Applicants within the cutoff date may be considered after review by the admissions committee.

LETTER FROM Lower school DIRECTOR

Dana Kohls, 2023 Colorado Family Favorite Private School Elementary Principal Runner Up

Success begins with an extraordinary foundation in Pre-K, encompassing next-generation education, depth of personal character and leadership, and cultivating the entrepreneurial spirit that thoughts are things. Individuals are their most creative at the age of five years old and in the Lower School we harness that creative spirit and guide our students to pursue academic excellence with passion and intent.

The partnership that exists between our extraordinary staff, families, and students ensures that we are collectively rising to our core values to be kind, do good, work hard and make the world better. It is the driving force behind our successful community strength and service program. With an open heart, I welcome you to our family and encourage you to reach out for more information.
