4th-8th grade students in Aspen Academy's Digital Music Club have been working on creating songs for movies and video games.
Arts and Athletics
In a society where many schools deem language, the arts and physical education as nonessential and expendable, Aspen Academy strives to expand these programs. At Aspen Academy, we call them "essentials" not "specials."Often, they’re woven together to create a tapestry of learning for our students. We consider these programs significant in fostering the development of well-rounded students.
In the Lower School, children are introduced to the arts and a wide variety of media, in lessons that are integrated into their core class curriculum. Lessons emphasize basic design elements and are planned so that all children experience success with materials, concepts and creative problem-solving. Cultural and world traditions by major artists are presented. Children develop the skills and techniques necessary to communicate their own ideas visually.
As students move into the Upper School, they have the opportunity to “elect” their arts and fitness classes from course offerings that correspond with their interests, preferences, and potential.
