This year, our 5th graders took part in Young AmeriTowne for just the second year in Aspen Academy history, stepping into a fast-paced simulation of jobs, business, banking, and community life. Through this real-world experience, students had the chance to work with peers, make decisions, and see how an economy functions when everyone plays a role. Click to read their student-written blog and hear directly from Maddie, Savannah, Brooklyn, and Helen about what the day was really like.

The Student Inclusion Leadership Club (SILC) is celebrating a milestone year at Aspen Academy. In its sixth year of existence, SILC has welcomed the largest number of participants in its history, with 20 students currently enrolled in this dynamic and purpose-driven leadership experience. At its core, SILC is grounded in the belief that every person carries a unique identity that contributes meaningfully to our community. That spirit of service continued during the weekend of February 22, when 15 of the 20 SILC students volunteered three hours of their time on Sunday, February 22, to support more than 700 athletes participating in a local Special Olympics basketball event.

At Aspen Academy, critical thinking isn’t a class—it’s how kids learn every day, from running real businesses to solving real problems that matter. We focus on raising humans of consequence by teaching kiddos how to think, lead, and act with character in a world that’s still being built.
