We're excited to introduce our next educational journey—a deep dive into Jonathan Haidt's book, The Anxious Generation. This insightful work explores the profound challenges shaping today's youth, examining the effects of rapid technological and societal changes on child and adolescent development.
Over the past six years, I have had the privilege of witnessing the joy in the eyes and faces of the students every day here at Aspen Academy. As a school counselor in an entrepreneurial leadership school, I am so grateful to work in an academic community that is intentionally caring and compassionate about helping young people live their most fulfilling lives.
However, it is a sobering reality that not all young people are surrounded by such a loving community and support system. As a result, the statistics of youth suicide are alarming and cannot be ignored. Bringing this issue to the forefront of our community’s attention is one proactive step that we can take collectively to promote emotional health among our students.

At Aspen Academy, we are proud to nurture our students not only in academics but also in leadership and entrepreneurial skills. Two cornerstone initiatives of our Leadership, Finance, and Entrepreneurship (LiFE) program are the Student Civic Organization (SCO) and Bear's Student Enterprises (BSE). Each program offers unique opportunities for our students to apply their learning in real-world contexts, fostering growth, responsibility, and innovation.

We believe that the key to future success lies in a solid foundation built on leadership, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. That's why we're proud to offer the Leadership, Finance, and Entrepreneurship (LiFE) Program—a cornerstone of our educational approach designed to prepare students for the challenges of the real world.
Last year, our Health & Safety team did extensive work with a traffic engineer to help us ensure that Aspen Academy has the safest, quickest and most efficient kiss ‘n go process possible. Learn more tips in this blog by Lynda Sailor.

We are so excited for the 2024-2025 school year and as your Elevate team, we are here to support you and your students throughout the year. The Elevate program and staff focus on three primary areas of student growth and development: Social Emotional Health and Wellness, Strategic Academic Success, and Cultural Competency. Through these pillars of personal development, Aspen Academy remains committed to meeting individual students where they are on their personal growth journey.

This essential day starts our year with a host of activities to share with families as we begin the 2024-2025 year at Aspen Academy. At your assigned time, stop by the front entrance (by the flag pole) to receive your "passport" for registration.
We're improving our calendar to be available via the Aspen Academy Parent Portal (MySchoolApp) and our website. However, you will need to re-sync to our new calendars and events will be featured only on one calendar to improve the experience for you. Learn more in this blog post.

Each year, our LiFE curriculum incorporates elements of leadership, finance, and entrepreneurship into our classes of 4 to 14 year-olds. In the late spring, we give students an opportunity to bring all those skills to life during our Entrepreneurs Expo. At the event, they have the opportunity to both sell on behalf of their grade and purchase products from other grades. This year, products ranged from $1-$25 and grades made an extraordinary total revenue of $9,703 in just 2 hours.
