Middle School Students Use Technical Skills and Creativity to Make "Selfies"
As part of a recent project with our middle school students enrolled in Photoshop 2, the class used their technical skills to change a painting, historical photograph or action shot into a "photo op" in which the main subject takes a selfie. Students were encouraged to add humor to their digital art and create compositions that make the audience stop for a second look. From the contemporary to the historic, students brought their creativity to this project in a delightful way. I hope you enjoy what they created!

Jamie loves being an artist and has extensive experience with ceramics, metalsmithing and painting. Prior to her employment at Aspen Academy, she ran the sculpture program at St. Mary’s Academy for 17 years. Her personal line of aspen inspired pottery has been showcased at several galleries in the Denver area and can also be viewed at www.aspenpottery.com. She is thrilled to join the Aspen Academy community and is ready to inspire creativity, curiosity and innovation.
