Entrepreneurs Expo: Important Details for Parents for Friday, April 28

We have an incredible morning planned for you on April 28th from 9:00 am-11:00am! We want to make sure you have all the details for this awesome event!

TLDR:

●      It’s a highlight of the year: please come and join us for this event between 9-11am on 4/28.

●      All purchases are cash-only, with the exception of some 8th grade businesses. Please make sure you and your students have cash for items ranging from $2-$20.

●      Encourage your students to earn their spending money!

Each year, our students from Pre-Kindergarten through 7th Grade spend months thoughtfully bringing businesses to life and creating products for our annual Entrepreneurs Expo. It’s one of the most energetic and inspiring days on campus as students demonstrate the leadership and entrepreneurial skills they’ve developed: collaborating as a team, ideating a product, creating it, and marketing and selling their final product.

Our Entrepreneurs Expo also includes the 8th Grade Business Expo!

Buying and Selling: Your child(ren) will have the opportunity to not only sell their products but also purchase other products.  All purchases will be cash-only, and products range in price from $2.00 to-20.00, so please have them bring dollar bills to make purchases. Parents are free to purchase products as well! All children will get the experience of seeing the Expo even if they choose not to buy anything.

●      Why Cash? An important lesson from this event is counting money! By selling products for cash, students learn to count money and have a tangible experience with selling. Our 8th Grade students have had this experience and their products may be sold via different purchasing means.

●      To gain the most worthwhile experience, we encourage you to allow your child(ren) to earn some spending money for the Expo rather than just giving them your money. This might include shoveling snow, organizing a closet, or cleaning up the yard.

Want to engage your student in understanding what they’re learning?

Ask your students about what they have learned from working together with their classmates to start their businesses! Are they proud of the product they created? What would they do differently next year when they do this again? What was the best part of creating a business with their classmates?

All are welcome: This event is open to the public community, so please feel free to invite family members, friends and neighbors to join us!
