Avery Griggs graduated from Aspen Academy in the class of 2012. She went onto Arapahoe High School.
Avery is now a freshman at Butler University in Indianapolis where she was awarded the Presidential Scholarship and the Theater scholarship from the Jordan School of the Arts.
Her declared majors are Theater and Sports Media. She has already jumped in feet first. Along with her academics, she was appointed as an official Butler student ambassador and works at the campus coffee shop. We could not be more proud of all of Avery's accomplishments.

The International Thespian Society (ITS), founded in 1929, is an honorary organization for high school and middle school theatre students located at more than 4,200 affiliated secondary schools across America, Canada, and abroad. The International Thespian Society is the world's largest honor society recognizing excellence and achievement in theatre students. More than 2 million students have been inducted into ITS since its beginning. Through their EdTA membership, Thespians have access to college auditions, scholarship money, and countless other young people with similar interests.
"The school has been effective in establishing powerful practices that assist in meeting the needs of students especially when they are coupled with the improvement priorities identified by the External Review Team. The school's leaders overwhelmingly demonstrate both a commitment to and habit of continuous improvement. The whole community lives its mission and adheres to its values in a culture committed to high expectations where all stakeholders hold one another accountable for academic growth, character building, and community service. Aspen Academy has been most effective in building its capacity for establishing a high quality educational program and developing continuous improvement practices to help students excel."
